When he’s not managing his label Lost Favourite Records, Berlin-based artist Kasper Granroth can be found making kombucha. A relatively new endeavour, Kasper’s kombucha brand Kombu is in high-demand, and he’s currently brewing a new batch. He also DJs across Europe, and drums for Finnish star Alma. Kasper founded Lost Favourite, a creative ensemble, record label and music publisher, back in 2017. We chatted to him to hear more about his work, find out what he wishes he’d known a few years ago, and of course to get a hot tip for a spot he loves in his city.
Can you introduce yourself in a few sentences?
My name is Kasper Granroth, I’m an artist and entrepreneur.
What do you do for work? How did you get to where you are today?
My main focus lies on music with my label Lost Favourite Records, and since this summer on our kombucha label KOMBU. I'm also playing DJ gigs and drumming for the Finnish pop artist Alma. I got here by working hard and listening to my heart.
What does living a good life mean to you?
Figuring out who you truly are and then aligning your values based on that.
What’s something you wish you’d known 5 years ago?
Trust yourself, you can do it, and you can find gratitude in every part of the process.
Who’s someone (famous!) you look up to?
Joaquin Rafael Phoenix
What’s the best life lesson you’ve learnt?
The only constant is change.
What do you dream about?
Peace on earth
What is one thing you recommend?
Fixing your diet (what you eat, watch, listen, read and the people hang around with).
Finally, give us a hotspot in your city!
Robin Hood Weserstr., a community driven supermarket raising money to fight poverty and climate change. The store is full of organic and regional products and has the friendliest staff. On this side of Weserstr. you can also find my favourite cafe: Bully's Bakery. You can find out more about Kasper's work here: https://www.lostfavourite.com/.
