Can you introduce yourself in a few sentences?

I’m Pia, a features writer from London, and I’m the Content Editor at Dua Lipa’s editorial platform, Service95. It’s hard to define my work because I love covering a wide range of topics, but my main interests are definitely in fashion, the arts, and culture. I’m lucky that my work allows me to write and create content on such a broad spectrum of subjects - I'm constantly discovering new things I want to explore!

What do you do for work?

As Content Editor, I mainly look for stories, review pitches to commission from other writers, and plan ahead with the team on what we think we should cover at Service95. When I’m not doing that, I’m writing my own pieces, creating videos for our YouTube channel, and helping out with whatever else we’re working on (which is often the case in the world of start-ups!).

How did you get to where you are today?

I studied Fashion Journalism at Central Saint Martins, which was incredible for networking. The tutors at CSM are so well-connected, giving us great access to the industry. During my time there, I did a placement year working with Alexander McQueen’s press team. While I learned a lot in that role, it also made me realise that I didn’t want to work solely in fashion and I wanted to write more creatively. I reached out to my CSM tutor to see if she knew of any editorial jobs, and by chance, Service95 had just contacted her, looking for candidates for the editorial assistant role. I applied, got the job, and that was before Service95 even launched. Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to grow with the platform, and it’s been a really fun journey so far…

Service95 is a global style, arts and society venture – the ultimate cultural concierge – at the service of the reader.
What does living a good life mean to you?

Living a good life, to me, means making the most of every day and taking the plunge. Being from a city with so much freedom, I don’t want to look back and feel like I didn’t do something because I was scared or felt I should play it safe. It’s also about the balance between pushing myself at work and finding time to do things like dance, laugh, and be silly with my friends and family. There’s always so much happening and so many pressures to succeed and do more in whatever you do. Especially in London, there is this sink-or-swim feeling. But I try to think about what is actually important to me (blocking out all the noise!) and just have a good time - probably sometimes too good of a time! I’m still trying to get the balance right…

What’s something you wish you’d known 5 years ago?

No one cares as much as you think! Stop overthinking things and just go for it.

Who’s someone you look up to?

My first editor at Service95, Funmi Fetto. I constantly look up to her and the incredible work she does, all while being such a genuinely kind and generous person. She’s an example of someone who’s super successful in their field, but has maintained true to themselves throughout all of it.

What’s the best life lesson you’ve learnt?

Keep following your own path, and try not to compare yourself to others - everything will happen in its own time.

What do you dream about?

Being like my parents when I grow up - who are still just as in love as they were 25 years ago & still party just as hard!

What is one thing you recommend?

Getting a cat.

What song would be the soundtrack to your life?

Don’t Look Any Further - M People

Finally, give us a hotspot in your city, or a city you love!

I love Maltby Street Market in Bermondsey. There are loads of delicious global food vendors on the weekends and under the railway arches, there are some great bars and restaurants, like a tapas place called Bar Tozino. There is just always a cosy and buzzy vibe on Maltby Street.
